Located in the heart of the historic center of Syracuse, on the splendid island of Ortigia, La Gorgone Ortigia Apartments has six apartments in two different ancient historic buildings dating back to the end of the 18th century.
In the ancient Jewish quarter of Giudecca, among Baroque buildings and picturesque neighborhood streets, we offer 4 cozy apartments recently renovated maintaining the rustic style, with high ceilings, exposed stones and terracotta floors.
A few steps from the house you can walk to the solarium or the small beach of Calarossa. If you want to explore the surroundings without using the car, you will also have two vintage bicycles at your disposal.
Adjacent to the Spanish walls of Porta Marina, a UNESCO heritage site, our guests can stay in two luxurious suites overlooking the splendid blue waters of the Porto Grande.
Each apartment is equipped with the most modern comforts, including air conditioning, wi-fi, flat screen TV, washing machine, kitchen and bathroom.
Some apartments have a balcony, courtyard or terrace overlooking the sea.
By car or motorbike, our guests can reach us even when the ZTL is active and can take advantage of a parking space on request.

A nice place to stay. Light, bright, clean, with great sunset view from either the bedroom or rooftop patio. Great shower and very comfortable bed. For those people arriving by car, you can park 50 m away. Park your car in the Porta Marina car park and then walk back 150m to della Marina car park to pay the attendant a discounted 15 euro per day rate. Roberto was helpful and prompt to reply to any inquiry. We required ready access into Ortigia, so Roberta organised a ZTL (limited traffic zone) exemption on our behalf. There was a bottle of wine and pastries provided on arrival. If you are able to climb narrow stairs, then Roberto’s apartment is a great place to stay in Ortigia.

What a dream home and the perfect way to discover Sicily! Sunrise and sunset from the roof deck were always magical and families and kids would wave to us on the roof. There are dozens of restaurants and grocery stores all within walking distance. I loved the farmers' markets in town and would stock up on fresh fruits and nuts and dried foods before a day of adventuring. In town, there's a 6th-century BCE Greek Temple of Apollo and a 13th-century CE castle, Castello Maniace, to explore. The home was beautiful, filled with modern amenities including a little espresso-maker, and provided the perfect place to collapse after a day of exploring Mt. Etna (1.5 hours drive), Noto (40-minute drive) and the Valley of the Temples (2.5-hour drive.) The host was always responsive and provided great tips for the neighborhood. Thanks Roberta!

Roberta's place is beautiful and in a prime location overlooking the sea. Her place was clean and she even had some goodies for us. Roberta is super responsive and helped us get parking that was nearby which was 20 euros a night. However, there is parking right outside of her place where you can use the kiosk to pay for parking which is 15 euros. My fiance and I found out about it on our last night.

Lovely flat with roof terrace and gorgeous views over the harbour at sunset. A great place to unwind a relax on seconds from all that Ortigia has to offer!

Roberta's apartment is exactly how it looks like, nice, well furnished and nicely decorated. The terrasse is amazing, the shower is working great and the bed is really confortable. Everything for a perfect stay. The stairs are indeed difficult to navigate if you have a big luggage but this was already mentioned previously.

We spent 4 relaxing nights in this spacious, clean and well appointed apartment. Located in a wonderful part of the island and close to everything- you have four balconies from which to enjoy the view and the rooftop terrace is truly incredible. We spent each night watching the sun set from the terrace, it was the perfect way to end the day. There is so much to see and do on the island of Ortigia. We were very impressed by the large number of places to eat and drink. Roberta is a responsive and kind host who is an excellent communicator. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this beautiful apartment again.
